Haiku, the shortest poem in the world, 17 syllables of 575. Knowing the historical background in which the poem was created and the circumstances surrounding the author's time will give you a deeper sense of the haiku. The first step in creating a haiku is to mentally follow the scene that the author has copied, including how to use seasonal words in kana, how to abbreviate and suggest words, and so on. 114 haiku selected from Shiki, Jakatsu, Santoka, and contemporary haiku poets. About the author ●Hiroki Horimoto: Born 1974 in Wakayama Prefecture. Graduated from Kokugakuin University. After serving as editor-in-chief of the haiku association Kawa for three years, he became an independent haiku poet in 2010. Participated in the world's first live haiku event "Tokyo Mach" with Mr. Sennoboshi, Mr. Yu Nagashima, and Mr. Kazunari Yonemitsu. The 2nd Hokuto Award was established in 2011 by Haiku Kai, a comprehensive haiku magazine. In 2013, he received the 36th Haijin Association Newcomer Award for his haiku collection Kumano Mandala. In 2015, he won the 11th Japan Poetry Essay Criticism Award. In 2015, he received the 2015 Wakayama Prefecture Cultural Encouragement Award. Co-authored "Entertainer and Haiku poet"
