This is a well made George III Scottish Provincial Sterling Silver Teaspoon in the classic Old English pattern. The letter B is elegantly engraved at the top of the stem.

The teaspoon was made in Aberdeen by Peter Lambert and dates to between 1804 and 1816. Peter Lambert was a Scottish silversmith active in Aberdeen between around 1804 and 1816 and thereafter in Berwick-upon-Tweed until around 1850, with his later work assayed in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He was a specialist spoon maker producing work of consistently high quality.

Condition is very good, with no dings or dents and just the superficial surface wear that has to be expected after over 210 years of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The teaspoon is 13cm / 5.1ins long and weighs in at a respectable 10.5g / 0.37oz of solid Sterling Silver.

The hallmarks, on the underside of the stem, show the thistle mark for Scottish Sterling Silver and the P L makers' mark for Peter Lambert of Aberdeen.
