Victorian Sardonyx Cameo Brooch Forget-Me-Not Agate 9k Hair Locket Antique

Up for sale is an exceptional and highly desirable authentic Victorian-era mourning brooch (circa 1860-1880).

The centerpiece is a large, beautifully smooth cabochon-cut banded agate stone displaying a crisp natural white ring encircling a solid black center. It is surrounded by twelve exquisite, individually bezel-set sardonyx cameos. Each tiny cameo is meticulously hand-carved in high relief, featuring delicate white forget-me-not flowers and leaves standing out beautifully against a rich black background.

The reverse features a beautifully preserved, pristine woven human hairwork memento safely secured under glass in a tightly woven geometric memorial pattern.
