The car needs a new timing chain. I was eventually quoted £1000 for the job after initially spending a few hundred quid trying to detect the problem plus repairs needed to pass the last MOT.
It all started when a whistling noise began coming from under the bonnet especially on acceleration.Had the ignition coils, spark plugs and MAF sensor all changed before discovering the timing chain was culprit. Its stretched.
Now the car shakes and rumbles upon start and can be mistaken for a tractor. The cars been sitting there for months and its time to go.
The battery has recently gone flat. So will need to be towed. Car has to be manually opened with key for now.Wear and tear typical for age.
Some watermarks stains on the seats.
