Both boxes together form the full campaign expansion for Arena: The Contest, but they still require the Arena: The Contest core box to play.
The top box, Tanares Adventures, adds a large cooperative campaign system, new heroes, bosses, and missions, while the bottom box adds extra content for that campaign such as additional miniatures, enemies, and scenarios. Together they create the full Tanares Adventures experience, but they use the miniatures, boards, and cards from the original Arena: The Contest core game.
