Offered here is an original heavy burlap ore bag stenciled "Upton-Tracy Keeler, Cal. Via Mojave." Also stenciled with a K on the back. Measures 22.0 x 27.0 Keeler was a Southern Pacific Railroad Depot and freight shipping point located near the road that ventures up to the Cerro Gordo Mines on the west side of the Inyo Mountains in Eastern California. Keeler was also the terminus for the long Aerial Mine Tram that was built to send ore down from the Morning Star Mine high above a bit south of Cerro Gordo. The SP Railroad narrow gauge line connected south to the desert town of Mojave. Both the SP Railroad tracks and most of the town of Keeler are long gone now. Great display piece of Keeler Mining history that will be carefully shipped in as shown folded condition. Thanks for looking!
