As heading this is an extremely rare and desirable clarinet - made in the late
19th C by Metzler & Co of London. I am NOT an expert on musical instruments
but this appears to be made entirely of rosewood. There are marking on each section
that read "Metzler & Co London" I cannot see a serial number. As you can see the
main part of the clarinet is made in 4 sections (excluding the mouthpiece.)

There is also a beautifully made rosewood cover for the mouthpiece.

It measures 18 3/4" in total length including the mouthpiece - it comes with the original
wooden storage box which is in good order.

Condition:

<> All of the metal keywork is present and it is in very good order with NO  damage or repair.
<> The wooden parts are all in good order with NO cracks or splits
<> The wooden cover for the mouthpiece has a couple of age related cracks
<> One of the joints will require some attention as it is very loose (but simply need re-threading)
<> Some of the pads will probably need replacing

PLEASE NOTE> I am selling this clarinet on the basis that it is a VINTAGE item NOT on the basis
that it can be played right away. It will need some degree of servicing. It is a RARE musical instrument
that is approx 1850-1880 in date so approximately 150 - 170 years old. From my researches the company
of Metzler were in production between 1788 and 1936. Metzler clarinets are highly regarded and sought
after by players, academics, museums and collectors.
