Koyama Seisakusho is a company based in Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture, with a long history of crafting high-quality carpentry tools and cutlery.
Like Shinshu-style and Tosa-style forged cutlery, Banshu Miki-style forged cutlery is a craft item produced using the “forging” technique, which shapes the blade using a die,
and the region is known as one of Japan’s leading centers for cutlery production.
A defining feature of Banshu Miki forged blades is that a wide variety of cutting tools are still produced using traditional methods.
From everyday items such as pocket knives, chisels, and planes to tools used on construction sites, a diverse range of products is carefully crafted one by one by skilled artisans.

The “Nomikatsu” chisel is manufactured by Koyama Metal Industries in Miki City.
By inserting steel into a U-shaped (kasugai) frame, the chisel’s strength is enhanced, resulting in a sturdy and highly durable product.
Three grooves are machined into the back of the chisel, making it easy to keep the back surface flat.
This chisel offers excellent value for money; it is easy to use, sharp, and durable.
