Description

RAe II is an AC/DC electric multiple unit of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) dedicated to international services. It entered service in the 1960s and operated as a first-class international train "TEE" (Trans Europ Express), including the "Gottardo" between Zurich and Milan.
Later it was downgraded, rebuilt, and repainted, and continued operation as a "EuroCity" until around 1999. After retirement, it was designated as a historic train of the Swiss Federal Railways, and around 2003 one formation was partially refurbished and restored to its original TEE-era appearance. It is still active today as a special event train.

This product reproduces the RAe II in the revived appearance of the classic international train "TEE", in which it continues to operate today. It is an indispensable train when talking about the history of international trains connecting various parts of Europe, and can be enjoyed together with various modern international trains.
