This Chinese porcelain famille noire ginger jar features a floral design set against a deep black glaze. The hand-painted flowers, rendered in vibrant colours, symbolise abundance, wealth, and harmony, reflecting traditional Chinese motifs.

At the base is a six-character mark reading “Made in the Qianlong Period of the Great Qing Dynasty” (大清乾隆年製), a tribute to the Qianlong reign but made in the late 19th century.
