History

The 3.67-inch Hotchkiss shell was commonly fired from Union rifled field artillery, including the 3.67-inch Rifled Gun (Ordnance Rifle). Designed by Benjamin B. Hotchkiss, this projectile became one of the most successful and widely issued artillery rounds of the Civil War. Original components such as base cups are increasingly difficult to find and make excellent additions to any Civil War artillery collection.
