This vintage Japanese porcelain serving set includes one larger three-footed centerpiece bowl and five matching individual dishes, all beautifully hand painted with purple violets and trailing green foliage. Each piece features a scalloped floral form with bright hand-applied gilt trim, giving the set a delicate cottage or Victorian-inspired appearance.

The larger centerpiece bowl measures approximately 6 inches across, while the matching individual dishes measure approximately 2.75 inches across. The pieces may be used as open salts, nut dishes, candy dishes, relish dishes, or simply displayed as a decorative floral set.

Some pieces are marked “Made in Japan” on the underside.

Condition

Overall, the set displays very well. There is expected age-related wear to the gilt trim, including areas of rubbing and loss, along with minor manufacturing irregularities typical of hand-decorated vintage Japanese porcelain. No chips, cracks, or repairs were noted.
