This paperback booklet is titled "Russell's New Graphic Guide to the New Forest". It was published by Russell & Co. (Southern Counties) Ltd in 1953 22nd edition. Lots of information about the area, with suggestions for 30 different walking routes, some excellent b/w photographic images and lots of adverts for local businesses and places to stay. 96 pages plus covers. Fold-out map of the area inside front cover. An interesting piece of local history and an ideal addition to a collection. The item measures 10.5cm x 16.5cm.
The item is in a good plus condition. The fold-out map is about two thirds detached from the title page to which it is affixed along spine. The two centre pairs of pages are detached from the staples - it doesn't look as though they were quite caught into the staples properly originally. General edge, spine end and corner rubs, very small and tiny creases at corners, crease across top rear corner area, slope to spine, rubbing along spine, rusting to staples with some small brown marks, light crease down front of spine, some very small rubs down rear of spine, light bend at bottom front corner area, a little very light browning and the odd very small and tiny mark to front cover, some ink and pencil squiggles, some small marks and rubs, some light grubbiness and some light brown speckles to rear cover, light crease at top rear edge, tiny chip at front edge of rear cover, crease at bottom front edge, some light brown marks inside covers - mostly along edges, pencil note at top of first page, some light brown marks to bottom page edges, a little roughness to some page edges, a little very light browning to some pages, some light bends and some very small and tiny creases at page corners, some bumps to edges of covers and pages, the odd light mark and the odd very small and tiny mark internally. Two small tears and a crease at left hand edge of fold-out map, the odd very small and tiny mark to front and reverse of map.
Please check scans carefully as they help with the condition too.
