Vintage large Japanese tin lithographed Buick sedan friction toy car dating to the early 1950s.
This impressive toy measures approximately 12 inches long and is modeled after the iconic late-1940s Buick automobiles. It retains its original painted finish, chrome trim, hood ornament, and rubber tires. The underside is embossed “Made in Japan.”
The friction motor does not operate and is being sold as a non-working display piece.
Condition is good vintage overall with honest age-related wear. The paint retains an attractive gloss with scattered scratches and scuffs from use. Chrome trim shows oxidation and discoloration. There are a few small missing trim pieces on one rear quarter panel, leaving visible mounting holes (see photos). No major dents or crushing were noted, and the car displays very well.
