The Mitsubishi A6M Zero (also known as the Zeke) was Japan’s most famous fighter aircraft of the Second World War. Introduced in 1940, it shocked Allied pilots with its incredible agility, long range, and climb performance. The Zero served throughout the Pacific War with the Imperial Japanese Navy, flying from carriers such as Akagi, Kaga, Soryu, and Shokaku.
The Rufe variant (A6M2-N) was a floatplane version used for island defence, reconnaissance, and patrol duties across the Pacific. Its ability to operate from remote bases made it invaluable in early‑war operations.
Zeros were flown by many of Japan’s top aces, including Saburō Sakai, Hiroyoshi Nishizawa, and Tetsuzō Iwamoto. It remains one of the most recognisable aircraft of WWII.

This kit comes from my late brother’s carefully preserved collection. He looked after his models with real pride and patience, keeping each one safe over the years. I’m now passing them on in his memory, hoping they find new homes with people who will appreciate them just as much as he did.
