A really  Superb Quality Japanese Kutani Teapot very much in the Satsuma style. During this period there was a great deal of cross  design between the two famous regions of porcelain production with some of the most famous ceramic artists of the period working in both the Kutani and the Satsuma regions in similar styles. The teapot features a stunning and beautiful "100 scholars" design . Heavily gilded and painted also in overglaze enamels.  A classical design of the Chinese and Japanese porcelain from the 18th and 19th centuries

The vase is signed to the base with a typical Kutani signature, the artist I have yet to look up.
