A stunning, authentic vintage mid-century hand-carved and painted solid wood landscape plaque. This exquisite piece was created by the master wood sculptors of the renowned "Artesanos Don Bosco" collective in Peru.
Artistry & Subject Matter:
This bas-relief wood carving features a beautiful, atmospheric botanical study of regional coastal trees bent by dramatic Pacific ocean winds. The texture of the foliage, the movement of the grass, and the depth of the cloudy sky are all intricately carved into the solid block of hardwood. It is hand-painted and sealed with a high-quality glossy finish, framed by a thick, minimalist recessed border.
Provenance & Artisan Signature:
This piece features exceptional provenance. The reverse side bears the official hot-stamped "Artesanos Don Bosco Peru" brand mark. Furthermore, it is uniquely hand-engraved by the specific workshop location and individual artist: "LlamellĂn" (the high-altitude Andean town workshop) over "Flores" (the artisan's surname). This individual signature makes it highly desirable for collectors tracking master carvers from the Operation Mato Grosso network.
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition. The carved and lacquered wood surface is fully intact with gorgeous coloration and no major wear. The frame lines are crisp and clean. Please see all listing images for a comprehensive look at the condition.
