Description

  • Pair antique animalier bookends by Lecourtier 
  • French spelter cast bronze dogs bust/heads mounted on red onyx bases
  • By Prosper Lecourtier (1851-1924) - signature marked on each dog collar
  • C.1920
  • Two different portraits - one of a spaniel and the other a hound, both with such personality.
  • Superior craftsmanship and detailing to these pieces showing fur and facial features.  
  • Wonderful aged patina - each dog's nose are shiny
  • Size 20cm height x 12cm wide x 12cm deep
  • Weight of each bookend 3kg each

Condition

  • Antique items which display beautiful patina from age 
  • Good quality spelter to dogs
  • Some minor chips / scratches on onyx bases

As a charity we do not accept offers and always allow our auction to run its course.

We have a 5 day handling period for all shipping, this may differ during bank holidays.
