This is a large Japanese cast bronze vase by Yoshino Takeji, with engraved decoration by Takano Shizan.

The body features an elegant high-relief and engraved design of pomegranate branches, flowers, and a small bird. The pomegranate fruit is finely detailed with raised seeds and textured dotted work, while the bird and leaves are delicately carved, creating a refined contrast against the deep brown bronze surface.

The vase has a rounded, full-bodied form with a wide mouth and stable foot. The side is signed “Shizan koku” indicating the engraved work, and the base bears the “Takeji” mark.

With its substantial weight and beautifully executed metalwork, this piece is a fine example of Japanese decorative bronze craftsmanship, suitable as a flower vase, display object, or collector’s item.
