Vintage U.S. Army green dress uniform, including jacket and matching pants, made in a lighter-weight polyester/wool tropical fabric rather than the heavier wool serge used on many earlier Army service coats. Interior label reads “U.S. Army Uniform – 60% Polyester / 40% Wool,” and the coat label indicates “Coat, Man’s, Polyester/Wool Tropical,” Size 37R, made by Franklin Clothes Inc.

The jacket features a classic military service coat cut with notched lapels, shoulder epaulets, four front flap pockets, gold-tone U.S. Army eagle buttons, and matching green trousers with a dark side stripe. The sleeve insignia includes an Airborne tab above the eagle-head shoulder patch, consistent with the 101st Airborne Division “Screaming Eagle” insignia. This gives the uniform a strong U.S. Army Airborne / 101st Airborne / Vietnam-era / Cold War-era appearance.

Because of the lighter tropical-weight fabric, this uniform has a smoother, less heavy feel than earlier Korean War wool uniforms, making it especially useful for theater, film, display, reenactment, and collector use.
