A table fan built to look like the ones that stood in Japanese living rooms in the 1960s, chosen in Tokyo for a desk that could use some character.
About this piece
Every Japanese household of the Showa era had a fan like this: translucent blue blades, a chrome guard, and mechanical push buttons that clunk when you change speed. Koizumi rebuilt it — the look is 1960s, the internals are current, with an off-timer up to 180 minutes and proper oscillation. It is small enough for a desk or a bedside table at 41 cm.
In pristine, unused condition — packed and sent from Tokyo. Please refer to the photos for the exact condition.
Why it's loved
Mechanical push buttons for the three speeds. They click down and stay down — you can change the fan in the dark without looking at it.
The colour that dates it exactly: the blue-tinted plastic blades of a Showa-era fan, spinning behind a chrome guard.
Set it and sleep. The timer runs to 180 minutes, which is the part a genuine vintage fan will not do for you.
41 cm tall and 1.7 kg — it sits on a desk, a shelf or a bedside table rather than taking floor space.
Size
Before you buy — voltage
A Japanese-market appliance: AC 100 V, 50/60 Hz, with a Japanese two-pin plug. In the U.S., Europe and most other regions you will need a step-down transformer to run it safely. The manufacturer's warranty is valid in Japan only.
Why SUKIARI
