Up for sale is a 2003 Ferrari RX-8. It was assigned Mazda at birth, but has since transitioned. While the rigid bureaucrats at the DMV still put "Mazda" on the title, my father—the original owner—helped it along its path with Ferrari badging and ornaments. Please respect its truth.
We pre-ordered this car in 2003 after seeing the RX-8 shell in X-Men 2. It’s been loved since day one and driven like a queen. To prove we’ve actively maintained it over the years, the chassis has tracking for two transmission replacements and two clutch replacements over its lifespan. It also has had a full engine swap. The 6-speed magnesium transmission shifts beautifully and it handles like a race car. Inside, you get factory red/black leather racing seats and a premium Bose sound system.
The Quirks (Authentic Exotic Reality)
Like any true, temperamental exotic, this car has a healthy dose of character:
The Dashboard: A warning light is on. Mechanics might call it a standard 2003 code or a coolant reservoir sensor issue, but we call it the Check-Heritage light. It ran flawlessly on a test drive today and doesn't affect performance.
Cosmetics & Weight Reduction: The rocker panels feature unique structural pinning studs. The overhead console trim has been removed for a raw, weight-saving track aesthetic, leaving a factory wire connector exposed. The paint and interior show their age, but the bones are solid.
Transmission has been replaced once at 80,000 miles clutch has been replaced twice and engine was replaced with new generation. Documentation for engine swap maintained but collection tranny paperwork misplaced.
