Used Photography Equipment
The Nikon AF Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6D ED is a versatile telephoto zoom lens designed for Nikon film and DSLR cameras which don't require the motor in the lens. Covering a useful focal range from 70mm through to 300mm, it is well suited to wildlife, sports, aviation, motorsport, portraits, and general outdoor photography. Featuring Nikon's Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass, the lens helps minimise chromatic aberration while delivering good sharpness, contrast, and colour reproduction throughout the zoom range. The lens also includes a close-focus macro mode, allowing for near close-up photography at selected focal lengths. This AF-D version uses Nikon's screw-drive autofocus system and provides distance information to compatible camera bodies for improved metering performance. Autofocus is supported on Nikon cameras with an in-body focus motor, while manual focus remains available on all compatible bodies. Lightweight, affordable, and offering excellent reach, the Nikon 70-300mm f/4-5.6D ED remains a popular telephoto zoom for both film and digital photographers.
