Description A superb decorative English antique early Victorian solid sterling silver vinaigrette box by the famous silversmith Nathaniel Mills (1826 - 1857) in lovely condition and with English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1850. Excellent quality and a genuine 176 years old; a good size and decorated with attractive engine-turned engraving, it has a hinged lid and inside it is fully gilded and has a beautiful ornate hinged pierced grill. Measures 1.6 inches (41mm) x 1.1 inches (27mm) and is 0.4 inches (9mm) deep. Further decorated with a nice historic monogam in the cartouche and comes with its original sponge. Stunning example.

Date English antique early Victorian solid sterling silver, with full English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1850, (date letter "B"). Good clear matching silver marks in 3 separate places, including the silver duty stamp of Queen Victoria and the silversmiths initials are "N M" (Nathaniel Mills - 1826 - 1857).

Condition Lovely condition with no splits or repairs, definitely no wear holes and no knocks or dents, a fabulous genuine antique example. The lid hinge and pierced grill hinge both still work perfectly and open and close securely, the beautiful pierced work on the grill is undamaged. The interior gilding is virtually all intact, just a bit of minor wear and is complete with its sponge. Superb silver Nathaniel Mills vinaigrette.
