DESCRIPTION

Up for sale is an authentic antique Japanese raw silk bale export label dating from the late Meiji to early Taisho era (circa late 1800s to early 1900s). This historic piece of graphic ephemera was used to mark silk bundles shipped from Japan to Western markets.
The label features an eye-catching stone-lithograph illustration of a registered trade mark flag bearing a circle emblem over a mountain range, surrounded by an intricate westernized border.
