## Country Artists "Dessie" Desert Orchid Limited Edition Sculpture

Up for auction/sale is a rare and beautifully detailed resin sculpture of the iconic National Hunt grey gelding, Desert Orchid ("Dessie"), captured mid-leap over a steeplechase fence.

This magnificent piece was sculpted by renowned artist Rachel D. Hartley and crafted by Country Artists as a strict limited edition of only 500 pieces worldwide. It features a handsome polished black wooden base complete with a brass commemorative nameplate detailing his lifetime dates (11/4/1979 - 13/11/2006).

### Condition Report — PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Please review all listing photographs closely, as they form part of the condition description:

* **DAMAGE NOTE:** There is a distinct, clean fracture/crack line running through the horse's front right leg (as clearly highlighted in image_2.png). The leg remains attached and the piece is structurally stable on its base, but the crack is visible upon close inspection.

* **General Condition:** Aside from the leg fracture, the rest of the sculpture—including the jockey, reins, fence structure, and painted turf—remains in very good aesthetic condition with bright paintwork. The brass plaque shows minor age-related spotting/patina.

* The base features the molded artist signature and 2007 copyright stamp (visible in image_9.png).

This remains a highly sought-after, low-run edition that would make a wonderful display piece or a rewarding minor restoration project for a collector.
