Front Design: Showcases a remarkable panoramic photograph of the fleet at harbor. Red text along the bottom explicitly identifies six iconic warships from the Russo-Japanese War: the flagship Mikasa, the captured war prize Tango (ex-Russian Poltava), armored cruisers Asama and Azuma, and protected cruisers Izumi and Chitose. The left margin bears the rare imprint of the Maizuru Naval Enlisted Men's Family Mutual Aid Association. Struck at the top left with the purple Shin-Maizuru anniversary cachet dated May 27, 1906.
Back Details: Unaddressed and beautifully clean. Features a green "CARTE POSTALE" header and an authentic 1.5-sen gray-brown Imperial Chrysanthemum stamp. The stamp is perfectly tied to the card matrix by a second crisp strike of the matching bilingual purple cancellation mark commemorating the 1st anniversary of the Battle of Tsushima.
Condition: Excellent antique condition. Tremendous visual contrast in the ship lineup text and exceptionally bold, crisp strikes on both purple cachets. Standard minor edge toning and very light corner wear consistent with a 120-year-old piece. Please see high-resolution scans for an exact view.
