This is a vintage Japanese Traditional Kokeshi crafted by Syogo Ogura (1934～1992), belonging to the Kijiyama style.
Traditional Kokeshi originate from hot spring regions in northern Japan and are characterized by distinct regional styles passed down through generations of craftsmen.

Shogo Ogura (1934–1992) was a kokeshi craftsman of the Kijiyama tradition from Akita, Japan.
He learned woodworking from his father, Masaharu Ogura, and later studied kokeshi making under his cousin, Kyutaro Ogura.
Beginning in the early 1970s, he produced both traditional Kijiyama-style kokeshi and works based on earlier masters such as Shoji and Ishikura.
His kokeshi are appreciated for their careful craftsmanship and graceful appearance.
