Description
Large hand-thrown studio pottery jug by Wold Pottery, North Yorkshire, featuring an attractive slip-trailed scroll design against a dark banded ground with soft cream, pale blue and brown glazed decoration.
Produced in traditional red terracotta clay and decorated by hand, this substantial jug displays the distinctive craftsmanship and earthy colour palette for which Wold Pottery became well known. The base carries the impressed WOLD HANDTHROWN mark together with incised JC initials attributed to potter Jill Christie.
A striking decorative piece equally suited to a studio pottery collection, farmhouse interior or country house setting.
