Up for sale is a rare vintage art glass necklace produced by Archimede Seguso for Chanel in the early '60's. 

Archimede Seguso, the renowned Italian glass maker, was commissioned by Coco Chanel to design and make a series of jewelry accessories to accompnay her couture ensembles in the 1960's.

Earlier pieces such as this were unsigned (later pieces would bear the initials AS); many not surviving due to their fragile composition and the practice of splitting lengths.  For comparison, this necklace (unsigned; same clasp) sold at a 2018 Sotheby's auction in Zurich for a similar price.  A reverse search of this will produce said auction and it's results.

For Coco Chanel commissioned the Venetian glass artist, Achimede Seguso, to make a range of hand made glass Chanel jewellery to accompany her couture line. The result was a collection of outstanding wearable works of glass art. The collection included earrings and necklaces of the most beautiful colours; some with crystal embellishment alongside the signatory oval glass links. Chanel was not the first nor the last famous name to collaborate with Archimede Seguso.  A self proclaimed couturier of glass; his clientele includes royalty, heads of state and the likes of Tiffany’s;  clients of sixty years. Seguso left an indelible mark on the artistry of glassmaking, having set out as a teenager and working until six months before his death in 1999, aged 90.
