This product is a rare, vintage, 14-page
1978 Detroit Lions NFL "Preseason Prospectus".
This was the first season under new head Lions coach, 41-year-old Monte Clark, who had been coach of the San Francisco 49ers in 1976 and who previously had spent six years with the Miami Dolphins as head coach Don Shula's offensive line coach. There was some optimism coming off of consecutive 6-8 seasons, with QBs Gary Danielson and Greg Landry. Marty Schottenheimer had been hired as a linebackers coach. 14 pages of typed player and coaches bios, season outlook, roster, depth chart, quotes and team stats. Future coach Dick Jauron was on the roster as a Lions DB.
It is a hard-to-find original publication from the Lions team, making it a valuable piece of NFL memorabilia for fans and collectors. The prospectus provides a unique insight into the team's preparations and strategies for the upcoming season, adding to its appeal for football enthusiasts.
