Included Items: Main Tea Caddy Natsume with Original Wooden Box.
Description: This exquisite vintage masterpiece represents the absolute peak of traditional Japanese art and "Wabi-Sabi" tea ceremony aesthetics. Shaped in the iconic, historically ideal proportions favored by tea master Sen no Rikyu (千利休), this premium caddy showcase three of Japan's most demanding lacquer techniques simultaneously. The exterior features the rare Kuro-Ishime (黒石目) (black stone texture), providing a sophisticated, tactile matte-black finish that echoes the spirit of Zen pottery. Adorning this deep surface is a magnificent "Shobu菖蒲" (Japanese Water Iris) motif, rendered in brilliant gold dust Makie and inlaid with shimmering, rainbow-colored Raden (螺鈿) (natural mother-of-pearl) that changes color under the light. In samurai culture, the Iris represents courage, victory, and noble dignity.
The most breathtaking surprise awaits inside: the interior is finished in full "Uchi-Kinji 内金地"—a supreme luxury technique where the entire inside is coated in brilliant gold ground, creating a dramatic, jaw-dropping contrast when the lid is removed. Housed in its authentic wooden box, this premium artifact stands as an extraordinary conversation piece. It instantly infuses any home tea room, executive office, private gallery, or luxury living space with an atmosphere of imperial splendor, samurai honor, and timeless oriental prestige.
Size: Approx. 2.5" Diameter x 2.7" Height (6.5 x 7.0 cm)

💡 About "Natsume" (Japanese Tea Caddy) & Care Guide
What is a Natsume? A Natsume is a traditional, highly prestigious wooden lacquerware tea caddy shaped like a jujube fruit (natsume in Japanese). This is a tea caddy used to hold matcha powder that has been sifted in a tea strainer beforehand, and is brought to the tea ceremony room when preparing thin tea (Usucha). Its elegant shape, silky luster, and delicate hand-painted motifs represent the peak of Japanese minimalist aesthetic and "Wabi-Sabi" philosophy.
⚠️ Critical Care Instructions for Longevity: To preserve the timeless beauty of this authentic Japanese lacquerware, please follow these traditional care rules strictly:
・DO NOT WASH WITH WATER: Lacquerware is extremely sensitive to moisture. Never wash it in a sink, never use dish soap, and never put it in a dishwasher.
・How to Clean: After use, simply wipe off any remaining matcha powder or fingerprints gently using a dry, soft cloth (such as microfiber or soft tissue).
・Avoid Direct Sunlight: Traditional Japanese lacquer (Urushi) can degrade and change color when exposed to ultraviolet rays. Store it in a cool, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.
・Storage Advice: Keeping the Natsume inside its original wooden box is the absolute best way to protect it from humidity and sudden temperature changes.
