VERY RARE TO FIND LARGER SIZE - (BUT PLEASE CHECK THE MESUREMENTS GIVEN BELOW)

FABULOUS, NEW, MEN'S, COTTON, NEW, JAPANESE, YUKATA-STYLE NEMAKI KIMONO SUMMER DRESSING GOWN / ROBE - with Belt - RARE FINE LIGHTWEIGHT TEXTURED COTTON WITHOUT LINING- GREAT LIGHT WEIGHT ROBE FOR TRAVEL OR HOT CLIMATE

You are offered a new, unused in original wrapper, beautiful, lightweight, Japanese-made kimono dressing gown / robe. This was brought from Japan.

It is very rare to find a slightly larger size in these robes as Japanese sizes can be small by UK standards. So please check the measurements given below before buying. The item comes with the usual, fairly short matching belt.

These nemaki robes are hard to come by and mostly unlined nemaki, which are summer wear, are rarer still, so please consider this item. Being lightweight and fairly fine cotton, this kimono would be great for hot weather or travelling to hot climes.

This robe is a traditional nemaki kimono in the traditional style having a typical very dark blue grid pattern on a white background. In fact it is a stylies bamboo caned pattern. Bamboo symbolizes strength and flexibility.

The fabric is a lightweight, fine but strong cotton with a slighlty crisp feel. The cotton has a subtle crinkle like seersucker.  This nemaki is only lined, in the top of the shoulder area, the rest is unlined, which is for summer wear.

There is a Japanese makers label and a care label which shows that it is "100% cotton" and washable at low temperature.

In the UK we sometimes call this kind of kimono a yukata as they are a bit similar, but this type of robe is actually a nemaki.

Nemaki are used for a dressing gown/housecoat or sleepwear, so only worn inside the home. Whereas Yukata kimono are cotton kimono worn outside the home on informal occasions such as summer festivals. You can tell the difference between a nemaki and a yukata because nemaki are lightweight, lined, and soft cotton, often with a matching belt. Whereas yukata kimono tend to be longer (especially women's), firmer, unlined, thicker cotton, have no matching belt and are worn with obi.

SIZE: This robe is sized as 'large body' on the outer packaging and indeed the robe is actually a good bit bigger than average.
Although it is a 'one size fits all' garment because it is a wrap round style - I think it would fit a range of sizes up with the best fit about UKL or XL.

Japanese sizes do not necessarily equate to UK sizes, so please check the measurements given against your own dressing gown or robe to get an idea if it will fit you.

The length is 55"/140cm long .

The width from one cuff edge to the other is 57"/145cm, so the sleeve is quite long.

The width across the back (side to side ) is 27"/68.5cm. The width all around the waist from one side, all the way round the back to the other side is around 62"/157cm and please remember you need a good crossover in the front.

The belts on these are usually very shrot but this one is a bit longer at 62"/157cm. at 51.5"/ 131cm long.

The robe is very light weight at about 320g.  (400g with packaging).

AGE & CONDITION: This
came new in its original packaging and it will be fairly contemporary.

The item is new and unused condition. I will fold and put it back in its original wrapper.

If you need any more information or pictures just send me a message.

All information is to the best of my knowledge. Please bear in mind, that colours do not always show absolutely accurately on photos and on monitors although they should be close to reality.

My items are mostly vintage and are not returnable unless grossly mis-described, so please check the details and measurements before bidding/buying. Please be aware that vintage clothing does not usually 'look like new' even when it is in excellent condition. Some slight general signs of ageing and use should be expected. If these are conspicuous, they will be mentioned in the description.
