Sterling Grey, 199,100 miles, MOT until 17th June 2026, 11 former keepers. Far from perfect but had a LOT of money spent on it and drives faultlessly. Everything outstanding is classic E39 stuff: rust, cosmetics, and consumables. Nothing mechanical.
Running a full Alpina B10 V8S drivetrain — 5HP24 gearbox fitted last year, and an Alpina B10 diff (3.08:1) fitted earlier this year after the original diff bearings failed. Original diff available with the car if you want to send it off for an LSD rebuild.

- Reconditioned engine fitted 2021, ~46k miles since. Rebuild covered liners, piston rings, conrod and main bearings, front and rear oil seals, heads, stem seals, and chains.
- Timing chain cover gaskets replaced with Elring (BMW OEM)
- Both rocker cover gaskets replaced with Elring
- Both camshaft sensor gaskets replaced with Elring
- Water pump replaced (INA)
- Full set of Gates auxiliary belts
- Fuel filter (Bosch)
- Full set of NGK spark plugs
- Oil changed every 6,000 miles / 6 months under my ownership

- New power steering reservoir and fluid (August 2025)
- Air con compressor replaced
- Air con receiver drier replaced
Electrical and interior
- Ignition key switch replaced
- All speakers replaced with Focals
- Xtrons head unit, wireless CarPlay, iBus retained
- Xenon headlight retrofit (lenses cloudy, want polishing)

What it needs
- 3 of 4 jacking points have failed and need welding — car cannot currently be lifted on them. This is the main job.
- Passenger side wing
- Both front "pork chops" (wheel arch sections meeting the front bumper)
- Roof needs a buff — recovery company have agreed to fund a respray if needed (damage caused during recovery from the French trip mentioned above)
- 4 new tyres
- Alloys want a refurb or replacement
- Rear subframe bushes
- Cluster has the classic dead pixels, wants refurbishing
- Tailgate upper glass hatch doesn't open
- Brakes have started squeaking on stops
- Wants an alignment
