A cheerleading letter jacket, and the hood is the detail: put it down and it lies flat across the shoulders, so "Cheerleader" in orange chenille script reads right across your back. The body and sleeves are black wool, the hood is orange wool with drawcords and a zip along its lower edge, and the rib at the hem and cuffs is striped orange, black and white. On the left front, a chenille 88, the class of 1988 going by that number, and the National Cheerleaders Association Championship enamel pin still on the chest, with a small silver pin beside it.
The red chenille letter, with a gold football emblem and four gold bars, is tucked loose in the right pocket, never sewn on; what shows reads to me as a block F, and I'll lift it out and photograph it for you. Snap front, welt pockets, quilted charcoal lining.
Good - there's a brownish vertical smudge on the orange rib of the right cuff near its edge, and the rib at the hem and both cuffs has gone fuzzy, the black stripes lifted and haloed. The chenille letter isn't sewn on: it rides loose in the right pocket with loose thread ends at its top corners and a light brownish smudge on the cream felt at the left end of its top bar. The black felt behind the 88 has pale fuzz and small nicks along its cut edge, the small silver pin is tarnished, the hanger loop inside has a small red mark, and there's some white lint on the black wool that a brush will lift. The wool itself is clean, the chenille 88 and Cheerleader script are whole, every snap is there, the NCA pin's enamel is intact and the quilted lining is sound.
I'm glad to photograph the loose letter, tape the sleeve, or answer anything else.
