This vintage solid brass porthole cover was removed from a working vessel. It was designed to protect porthole glass during storms and rough seas.

This piece still retains its hinge and pin assembly, which allowed it to be securely attached and opened when needed. This is a more complete example compared to loose covers. The brass surface shows heavy patina, oxidation, and marine wear. You will notice discoloration, surface buildup, and age across the piece.

You can reattach this cover to a porthole using the existing hinge setup. It also works well as a wall piece with a strong nautical look. It fits well in coastal homes, lake houses, or maritime-themed spaces. It can also be refinished if a cleaner finish is desired.
