Description - Lovely antique early 19th century solid silver-gilt sewing etui set with for sewing tools, thimble, cutters, bodkin case and a punch
profusely embellished with lavish embossed decoration and with a deep rich silver-gilt (gold washed)
presented in a splendid inlaid wood hinged case with a push button clasp with burgundy velvet and white silk fitted interior.
All tools have French hallmarks with the hare head Paris 1819-1838, along with other French hallmarks.
Condition - In the implements are in excellent condition apart from the scissors which have damage below one finger loop (repaired, see end photographs), silver-gilt is rich and bright.
the fitted box has a split along the back side (strengthened with adhesive, see end photographs), hinge is strong and the clasp catches well but there is a gap.
