A striking French 800 Silver Arrow pendant designed in the symbolic form of an arrow, a popular motif in Victorian and Art Nouveau jewelry that often represented direction, momentum, or the "arrows of love" (Cupid’s arrow). It is decorated on the arrowhead and fletching with Marcasite and it “pierces” a piece of cabochon coral. When worn, it will point downward towards the wearer’s heart.

The pendant measures approximately 2 1/8 inches (without loop) or 2.25 inches (including loop). It weighs approximately 2.5 grams. The coral measures approximately 6.5mm. The pendant shows wear appropriate for age and previous use. It is marked with French hallmarks along the reverse, including two on the shaft of the arrow, one on the arrow head and one on the fletching. The hallmarks are small, as is typical of French marks, but you can make out the Boars Head mark for 800 silver made in Paris, and at least one Weevil import mark.
