This is an original glass dome ceiling light with a brass base/gallery. Difficult to age, perhaps from the 1930’s as indicated by the original Bakelite lamp fitting (see photo) which has been replaced with a new white switched  fitting, but the original will be dispatched with the light as verification of its age. Fitted with a short length of cable for testing purposes.

The shade is opaline/obscured glass, with a clearer translucent front and white obscured back. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, scratches, etc.

The surface mount base is of brass has a lovely aged patina, with a steel fixing plate and three hexagonal brass side screws for holding the shade in position. It could also be used as a pendant light.

The shade measures 12 inches (30cms) in diameter and has a height including the base of 9 1/2 inches (24cms), the brass base diameter is 7 1/4 inches (18cms).

The light looks great when lit.
