Fitting & Usage

These hinges are designed as replacement friction stays. Always compare your existing hinge size, stack height and fixing positions before fitting.

  1. Measure the full length of the existing hinge
  2. Check whether your window is top hung or side hung
  3. Check the required stack height: 13-14mm or 16-18mm
  4. Remove the old hinges carefully while supporting the window sash
  5. Fit the new hinges in the same position where possible
  6. Check the window opens, closes and seals correctly after fitting
Safety note: Window sashes can be heavy. We recommend having two people when removing or fitting window hinges.
