Product Overview & Historical Significance

Whitney: Season One is the complete inaugural 22-episode season of the NBC sitcom created by and starring stand-up comedian Whitney Cummings. Released on DVD in a 3-disc set by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, this multi-camera comedy offers a hilarious, unvarnished look at modern romance, commitment, and relationship dynamics in Chicago.

The series revolves around Whitney Markowitz, a photographer, and her easygoing boyfriend Alex Miller, an internet entrepreneur, who have been happily cohabitating for three years without any plans to marry. Despite pressure from family and married friends, Whitney and Alex navigate the daily highs and lows of relationship non-conformity. Surrounded by a close-knit circle of friends, including opinionated cynic Lily, free-spirited Roxanne, traditionalist Mark, and romantic Neal, Whitney's relentless overanalyzing creates comedic situations as the couple proves that an unconventional bond can survive any hurdle.
