Urushi Wancher Original Automatic Watch with Domed Sapphire Crystal and Anodized Treatment
Wancher Dream Series
We at WANCHER aim to introduce to the world the things that have been preserved by wonderful traditional craftspeople around the globe, and the things they create, so that many people can incorporate this art into their lives and increase the joy in their lives.
We hope that the lives of those who continue to inherit and create these arts will become richer, and we are working to ensure that these traditional techniques are preserved for the future.
Until now, our company has mainly introduced models featuring traditional lacquerware, primarily fountain pens.
Our "Dream Pen (Dream Fountain Pen)," which became a hot topic on Kickstarter,
gave support to many people for this initiative.
This time, from the perspective of making traditional culture more accessible and allowing people to experience the pleasure and joy of wearing it, we have focused on watches, which we have been designing and developing for many years.
Applying the technology cultivated in fountain pens to watches, we have created this "Dream Watch."
The Art of Dreamwatch
- We want to create something that makes you feel the importance of living in harmony with the flow of "time."
A watch that allows you to feel history, tradition, and time in your ordinary days.
This Dreamwatch collection is themed around the "time" that flows by day by day, and aims to be a watch that allows you to feel "time."
- Multi-color stainless steel case with anodizing treatment
Following our journey to discover and preserve traditional art, we introduce Dreamwatch to you—a premium Japanese watch with high-precision mechanics, exquisite movement, and true craftsmanship. From fountain pens to wristwatches,
we are proud to support, connect with, and cooperate with traditional craftsmen throughout Japan in order to share precious traditional art with the world through products that enhance the quality of life.
Applying the techniques cultivated in fountain pens to wristwatches, this is our second uniquely developed wristwatch that fuses high-precision mechanics, craftsmanship, and art.
With the outstanding skills and art of a famous Japanese lacquer house, we are proud to bring you traditional Japanese art in the Dreamwatch collection.
Concept
This Dream Watch features "Kinsai Hibi-nuri," a traditional Japanese lacquerware technique passed down through generations.
"Hibi-nuri" is a type of "Kawari-nuri" (modified lacquerware) technique, where egg white is applied during the lacquer drying process, creating fine cracks on the lacquer surface.
Each dial is meticulously finished by lacquer craftsman Yoko Hirota.
Ms. Hirota discovered "Hibi-nuri" among her grandfather's belongings.
She spent several years repeatedly experimenting and refining the technique until she mastered it.
Due to the complexity of the process, mass production is not possible, and it takes a considerable amount of time to complete a single dial. Each dial's crack pattern is unique, and no two are exactly alike.
Your watch will be a one-of-a-kind, special timepiece.
The "beautiful lacquer dial" gives the watch timeless value, ensuring it never goes out of style.
Japanese lacquerware, with its rich history and tradition, is elegant and lustrous, achieved through the layering of lacquer, while also being lightweight and durable.
Japanese attire, such as lacquered combs and obi clasps, is recognized internationally as a symbol of Japanese beauty.
This Dream Watch allows you to experience the gentle texture of lacquer in your daily life, enhancing the wearer's elegance.
For this Dream Watch, we selected a Japanese-made 28,800 vibrations per hour movement, combining the advantages of both precision and durability.
The Japanese 28,800 vibrations per hour movement is crafted with high precision down to the smallest detail, and can be maintained by mechanical watch technicians.
By selecting this high-performance movement, this watch has become a lifelong treasure, a timepiece meant to be passed down to future generations.
