This attachment is much easier than using a 4-jaw chuck to set eccentric work because you simply dial in the required offset, and it can be repeated accurately without spending time indicating the work true each time.

  • Any part where one diameter is intentionally off-centre

For example, if you're making a small model engine crankshaft:

  1. Turn the main shaft normally.
  2. Loosen the eccentric adjustment.
  3. Set an offset of 5 mm.
  4. Lock the adjustment.
  5. Turn the crankpin.

The crankpin will end up exactly 5 mm away from the shaft centre.
