OVERVIEW

The Sumitomo HTR Enhance CX2 is a touring, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. Sumitomo offers a 65,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model.

The model improves the all weather traction with the tread design and the all season compound. This combination ensures the tire's grip on dry, wet and winter weather surfaces. The tread design, with the 3D zigzag siping pattern along the tread area, improves the grip on the road surface with extra biting edges, while the compound keeps the rubber flexibility in various conditions. The tread's circumferential grooves resist hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the footprint. This keeps the tire's surface contact, preventing water and slush from cutting off the tire's surface contact.

The tread design's symmetric ribbed pattern upgrades the surface contact in various weather. The tread design's surface contact improves the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. In this manner, the steering becomes faster and more precise in its response to the driver's commands, while the structure is secured against the driving pressure affecting the tire. The shoulder tread pattern improves the cornering capability. This design heightens the number of biting edges gripping the road surface during maneuvering, which boosts the cornering ability. This results in a safer year round performing capability.

The tire enhances the comfort levels during the drive. The tread design and the internal structure work together to minimize the road noise heard and vibrations felt in the vehicle's cabin during the drive. The closed shoulder pattern lowers the road and tread pattern noise heard in the vehicle's cabin. This pattern prevents airwaves from entering the footprint and coming into contact with the tread elements, which avoids the formation of road and tread pattern noise. The structure features a high-density casing ply and a jointless nylon cap ply which maintain the ideal tire shape. This enables the tire's close surface contact, which allows it to absorb the shock of driving. As a result, the road disturbances are not felt in the vehicle's cabin as they do not create vibrations. In this manner, the tire ensures a quiet and comfortable driving experience.

The HTR Enhance CX2 offers a longer lasting tread life. The tread design and all season compound work together to boost the length of the usability by guaranteeing a slower and even tread wear rate. The optimal tread design with the 3D zigzag siping pattern enables the tire to evenly distribute the driving pressure along the tread area. The equally spread out forces of acceleration, cornering and braking avoids irregular wear formations across the tire's surface. The all season compound's durable rubber materials decrease the tread wear rate by offering excellent wear-resistance. This results in the tire's exceptionally lengthened service life.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
