Description: This original antique print originates from 'Verzameling van verschillende gekleede Mans- en Vrouwen-Standen, ter oefening van jonge schilders en liefhebbers, naar 't leven geteekend door de kunstteekenaars Perkois en Prins en in 't koper gebragt door den kunstgraveur M.de Sallieth.' Published in Amsterdam, J. Immerzeel Jr. 1833. Attractive aquatint/stipple engravings of persons in different poses, that actually served as models for artist to draw from. The figures were originally drawn by Perkois and Prins in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and engraved by de Sallieth. They were originally published individually and finally published as a collection in 1833 long after de Sallieth passed away.
Artists and Engravers: Mathias de Sallieth (1749 - 1791): Czech etcher/engraver of etchings, stipple engravings and aquatint. Publisher and artist. Born in Prague, died in Rotterdam. He worked in Vienna, Paris, Schoonderloo and Rotterdam. He was a student of J.E. Mansfeld in Vienna and Jacques Philippe Le Bas in Paris. He worked for F. Samsom.

Condition: Good. General age-related toning with occasional light staining. Irregular edges as issued. Occasional minor tears in the edges not affecting image. Please study scan carefully.
