Description

A substantial British studio pottery stoneware vase or lamp base, attributed to Wilkes. The piece has a strong rounded form with an integral pedestal foot and an attractive earth tone glaze in olive green, ochre and warm brown.

The surface shows visible throwing rings, natural glaze movement and kiln variation, giving it a handmade studio pottery character. The form works well as a decorative sculptural vase, shelf display piece or potential lamp base.

The interior bears a red wax crayon mark reading Wilkes or similar. This appears to be an attribution or gallery style identification mark rather than a factory stamp, so the maker is listed as attributed.
