Description - Delightful Victorian large good gauge solid silver table snuff box of rectangular form with a hinged lid and a cast and scroll thumb piece
embellished with an engine turned hexagonal pattern with a cartouche which has engraved initial "WS"
silver-gilt (gold washed) interior.
Fully hallmarked with the anchor for Birmingham assay, the lion passant indicating 925 grade solid silver, Queen's head, date letter "E" for the year 1853 and the maker's mark "TD" which is Thomas Dones.
Condition - There are no dents, Splits, holes, there are two repairs to the bottom corners of the base and the engine turned decoration has rubbing,
hinge is strong shutting the lid securely, the interior silver-gilt is rich and bright,
