Peggy Nisbet Ltd was founded in 1953 by Peggy Nisbet in Weston-Super-Mare England and Peggy specialized in making dolls. In 1975 Jack Wilson's Canadian Investment Company acquired Peggy Nisbet Ltd and in 1976 changed the name to House of Nisbet when they began to introduce teddy bears designed by Peggy's daughter Alison based in Winscombe Avon England. In 1986 two Limited Edition Bears were issued to commemorate their 10th Anniversary. In 1989 the House of Nisbet was acquired by Dakin.
