Unframed antique steel engraving depicts the Battle of Navarino. The battle was fought on October 20, 1827, during the Greek War of Independence in Navarino Bay. Allied British, French, and Russian naval forces decisively defeated the Ottoman and Egyptian fleets. It was the last major naval battle in history fought entirely with sailing ships and was crucial in securing Greek independence. This specific illustration was published by William Mackenzie in London, Edinburgh, and Glasgow, likely around 1886.

The engravings each measures approximately 9.75 inches by 6.75 inches. General age-related toning, mostly to bottom edge, and foxing as visible in photos.
