The “Ukrainian Embroidery – Code of the Nation” postage stamp series, launched in 2018, continues with a new issue featuring traditional embroidery from the Odesa and Sumy regions of Ukraine.

The Sumy region is represented by a women’s shirt made of handwoven fabric from the early 20th century (Dobrotove village, Krolevets district). The sleeves are embroidered with two wide bands of rhombuses and truncated rhombuses, combined with garlands of small flowers. The lower part of the shirt features a wide ornamental band with window motifs, crosses, and traditional swastika-style symbols. The exhibit belongs to the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine.

The Odesa region is represented by a men’s shirt made of factory cotton fabric from the mid-20th century (Shershentsi village, Kodyma district, now Podilskyi district). The shirt is decorated with a floral “Brokar” style ornament created using cross-stitch, toothed elements, and overcast stitching. The exhibit is part of the collection of the Ivan Honchar National Center of Folk Culture and was donated by collector Dmytro Skoryk.
